Geoptic’s workhorse imaging systems that have recently completed two major programmes of tunnel surveys to identify voids and density anomalies in the overburden. 

The survey system comprises five rugged cases of muon detectors that can be flexibly configured to image a tunnel or other structures. 

The system’s key features include:

• Weight : 21kg per case 

• Case Size : 16cm by 54cm by 160cm 

• IP Rating : IP67

• Flexible - The cases comprise muon detectors that can be arranged to focus on areas-of-interest within a tunnel overburden or structure. 

• Power - The system is powered from a standard mains-rechargeable battery. The system lasts up to 16 hours on a single charge.

• Temperature Range - The instrument has been operated from 5 degrees to 30 degrees Celsius.

• Data Communications - Each survey system provides its own WiFi network. A tablet is provided and can be used to log-in, to configure and control the data acquisition system. 

The system provides 3D density information for near-surface engineering and geophysical projects.

The instrument is proven and available for commercial service projects.
